Analyzing everything that can be done, a blog is not only educational, but also fun. It can help provide people with advantages as they get older and also help people control emotions. Fortunately a blog is something that anyone can do, and can be on any topic that they want.

I think that blogging is an excellent way to express one’s feelings. The purpose of blogging is to allow more of a choice in what to write about as well as the ability to display it according to personal taste. With a blog one can say what they want, give out facts, or just tell about what they love the most. For example, a person who loves comedy would easily put links, videos, and pictures of things that make them laugh and could make others laugh too. Blogging gives people an opportunity to choose any topic that they can talk about. In many school assignments a student must do what a worksheet requires or advises. A blog gives you a break from your every day problems. Many people go home, want to tell someone about their feelings, but don’t know who to talk to. Why not write a blog? Writing a blog allows more people to view your feelings and they may be able to help by giving advice or more information.

While I have been writing a blog, I have found out more about what I enjoy, such as playing with video games and all of the awesome things that they can do. Who knew that older technology could be just as good as new? Besides that, I found out that people like me, people who want to know about electronics, always search the web for advice on better systems, cheats, and codes. Those hints and pieces of advice often come from blogs or websites that share broad information on that topic. Not only have I enjoyed writing my blogs so far, but I’ve also learned more about electronics than I used to know. Never before did I think that the Xbox was so cool. I even started to become more interested in technology that I did not like as much before.

I have learned so much about how a blog works. Before I thought that they were kind of dumb online sites. But now I guess you could say I have had a change of mind and heart for blogs. I never knew how simple a blog could be. Having a website would seem like it would take much more time and “effort”. I figured it out fairly easily and I would recommend it to anyone. Why? People will look at anything if it concerns them. Some blogs are not even devoted to one topic, unlike this one. My mind has been updated like a computer to the latest news. Not only have I been able to talk more about what I wanted, but I can decide how I want to write it. In a blog there is no limit to how much/ little information you put in or how much effort and time you devote. A blog is for fun and if you don’t enjoy talking to people, but don’t mind expressing it in written words, a blog is the type of thing for you. That’s what I figured out.

This will probably help me in the future, my future. It may even help you. It may give me inspiration on how to introduce a new car company I was thinking about or maybe it could just be a hobby. Whatever it may be, the writing style (everything on one fairly specific topic, Video Game pros and cons) could help me to be better at comparing and contrasting papers. Since I was able to gain the knowledge of how to create a blog, I could help teach others how to make one for them. In school and at work, I could be the “wiz” at blogging and video games. As I continue, and others continue, to grow, if we keep a blog we could pass valuable information onto generations to follow without even knowing it. For example: if I kept another blog going, I could use that information to update people and broaden people’s minds on that topic.

Blogging is a fun, yet educational way to express emotions, facts, advice, or whatever may come to someone’s mind. Blogs are unlimited in choices. I have enjoyed blogging and I encourage many others to also enjoy it. ENJOY PLAYING, VIDEO GAME LOVERS!

Nintendo Wii

Categories: Nintendo Wii.

The Nintendo Wii is the latest system which Nintendo has created. The Wii is on the market and is in competition with other company systems like the Sony PS3. Nintendo Wii is a system which most families will enjoy, but there are several set backs to the hours of fun people can have.

Fortunately for those people that previously had a GameCube (GC), or at least some GC games, are able to play them on a Wii. How? Since both the Wii and GameCube were invented by Nintendo, GameCube games are able to perform on the Wii. The Wii has four GameCube controller slots and it has two slots where you can insert up to two memory cards. The games of Nintendo in general are based on fun and are usually always approved by parents.

Several of the problems about the Wii include its Wii remote, semi-lower graphics, and minimal memory. The Wii remotes/ controllers are always requiring batteries which cost money, effort, and time. The Wii is often hard to have function correctly when playing online or playing with friends through cable. The remote when usually low on batteries, is unable to function with the sensor bar on your T.V or wherever it may be located. Speaking of a sensor bar, it is always hard to know where to put one. There are higher graphics and greater memory storage within Nintendo Wii’s competitors, the Xbox 360, and PS3. However the Wii makes up for that through other advantages. Since we all know that the sticky foam pads become non-sticky if you don’t use them, we decide to use them anyway. Usually you want it to be somewhere where it’s convenient, yet out of the way. It is recommended to be located/ placed in the center of the top or bottom of a T.V screen. People often put it on top of their T.V, fairly convenient except for the time when you want to move your Wii, but not your T.V. If you take off the sensor bar you leave a mark on your T.V, lessening the value of the T.V. If placed on the Wii itself, the system will always have to be out in the open when you play so your Wii controller’s signal will reach it clearly. Another problem found for many beginner Wii owners is syncing there remotes to the Wii. The Wii controller has caused a few accidents to happen as well. Once you sync your controller, don’t just sit down and play, get up, interact!

Besides the totally wicked fact of being able to actually interact with your games and experience them, is to have it a different, popular thing which you can share with all your buds. The Wii runs smoothly, silently, and does not easily over heat. You can pitch a ball, box with two fists, whack with a tennis racket, shoot with a gun, all on the Wii, Yippee! The wisely thought out Wii nuchuck and remote are similar to a GameCube controller, only split in half and able to sense movements. The price for a Wii, compared to the more expensive Xbox 360 and PS3, is only around $250 (for the system).

As anyone can see, the Nintendo Wii has a great price, though maybe not having as much memory or high of graphics as other systems, the Wii is a sense-able force to mess with. (Sorry for the cheesiness) Its complete controls allow you to dominate in your games, not to mention the fact that GameCube accessories are also compatible with it. I enjoy playing the Wii whenever I have the chance.

Desktop vs. Laptop

Posted on May 16, 2009 by jrdoda.
Categories: Desktop vs. Laptop.

The first thing that most people think when they hear the word laptop is “better than a desktop”. Better how? Well yea it’s lighter, faster, but then it is more expensive. Ever wonder that maybe updating to the latest stuff isn’t always best.  What may be cooler may not always be smarter.

Humans have the habit to want the latest, newest, and most popular of things that come out. Just like with the IPod, when a new one comes out, everyone trashes their old one to go buy this “newer, faster, more colorful” one. What do you do with your old one? Shouldn’t it still be in good use? Desktops that people (still) own are usually three years old or older. When it comes time that your desktop is 15 years old, it is time to buy either a new one, or a laptop. After 15 or so years, a desktop will be unable to process the higher technology games, programs and applications. Usually this is a good reason to look forward to buying a laptop. But should you buy a laptop or another desktop? There are pros and cons that must be looked at.

First off the laptop is obviously more easily transported, its lighter, and in general runs faster with more memory space.  You can take a laptop anywhere, set it on your lap plug it in, and play.  This can be a huge help, allowing you to take your computer to and from work, on planes, on camping trips, and practically anywhere else. A laptop is a device which you can carry everywhere with a Wi-Fi! Now-a-days laptops can play and burn DVDs, have good graphics and processors. When the main power goes off, a laptop still has its own battery source, unlike with a desktop, the power goes, your computer goes, your work goes. At the same price as a laptop, you could buy better hardware for a desktop. With a powerful desktop you could play just as many games as on a laptop.

Some of the real layoffs to a laptop are that unlike a more  heavy desktop, a laptop is light and easy to steal. People would easily think twice before trying to steal a desktop, even if it is worth more than a laptop. Not only do you loose data from your laptop, but also the value of it.

The laptop touch pad is often hard to use because of its over/ under sensitivity. Usually you will accidently scroll when you don’t want to or you aren’t able to scroll when you do want to. The keys can pop off of the keyboard and some laptop computers (not naming any specifically) have some of the most insignificant key board functions. Some of them don’t even work unless you have the correct model. Plus, speaking of having specific models, a manual always states a bunch of these cool applications such as a camera, built in speaker, and built in microphone. However when you buy your laptop (besides the visual applications), you have no idea what you truly have access to. For example, with my laptop which I got for Christmas, I was reading the manual and I read a section talking about how there is a built in microphone. Interested, I searched for that function, unable to find it. According to the manual only some laptops had a built in microphone, but mine didn’t say it did, nor didn’t have one. Another drawback about laptops is that if it does break, only the company which made it, will be able to fix it. On the other hand, with a desktop you can replace every individual compartment. (Speakers, monitor, camera, keyboard, mouse, printer, etc.) Besides everything else, to buy one, or to get one fixed is much more expensive than buying or fixing a desktop. Just a broad question but, how often do you use a laptop on a vacation other than for games? (Hint: I said VACATION!) Laptops often run out of battery when you are else where and most places don’t have a plug where you can plug it in to charge. A desktop is always “charged”, just not ever “ready to go”.  The downside to a desktop is that it is really bulky. In general they run slower, have less memory, and is obviously, not something you would set on your lap!

At schools when you have a whole bunch of laptops (usually all going to the same site) seem to lag. While those schools that also have the multi-server, single drive type of thing, (the multiple computers all connected to one powerful and large CPU) often run and has less of a lag. Who knows why?  Besides looks with laptops and desktops, it all depends on taste and brand.

It is completely on one’s condition, personal taste, and style, on whether they own a desktop computer, a laptop computer, or even neither. I prefer a laptop for games and travel, but a desktop for typing and school work. Still even though it is more convenient to have a laptop, it is not always what you want. ENJOY PLAYING, VIDEO GAME LOVERS! (Computer ones too).

PSP vs. DS

Posted on May 9, 2009 by jrdoda.
Categories: PSP vs. DS.

The Sony PSP and the Nintendo DS are the largest competitors for hand-held devices. Both the PSP and DS are popular, but which has better accessories? By the way, PSP stands for Play Station Portable, and DS stands for duel screen.

For starters the Sony PSP costs around $250, which is understandable, due to all the technology which went into it. But for the price of a PSP you could almost buy an Xbox 360. The DS is a slightly more reasonable with prices ranging from $130 to $150. However, these prices do not include the sales of the used devices.

The DS has a protective clamshell-style design. Just ’snap’ it shut and you can take it and leave. On the other hand a PSP has a shiny, large, but open screen, just waiting to be scratched. To prevent the PSP’s large, but very exposed screen, so you’ll want to buy something which you can keep it in. This could add to the price. The battery life of the PSP is also fairly short compared to the five hour power life of the Nintendo DS. To have your battery last longer for your PSP you may want to pay for a backup battery as well. Overall you will spend a lot more on a PSP rather than a DS (not including game prices), but just for the hand-held device and cases. Plus if you want the PSP to work for things like listening to music or playing movies you usually have to buy a larger memory stick which costs around the price of $50.

DS Lite is different than the DS original however. The PSP could beat the DS original in looks, but compared to the DS Lite, well… just watch and see! The DS Lite is much fancier than the original one.

The DS (Lite from now on) has a very bright screens (it has two-DS= Duel Screen), is light weight, and slightly a finger print magnet (less of one when white). One of its largest factors to being popular, is the DS’ touch screen where you can interact with your game and have fun doing something besides just pushing buttons. Inside games the touch screen allows you to use calculators, drawing pads, and other countless applications. There is also Wi-Fi where you can play on-line or connect with someone else nearby that has a DS, and together you are able to connect and have fun playing games. On the DS you have personal settings, you can show the time, the DS operates as an alarm clock, you have Picto-Chat, {{{at the bottom of this page, view possible things to do on Picto-Chat}}} DS down-load play (Wi-Fi), and there are also other options you can work with throughout certain games.

The PSP, allows you to choose your own background, some of them which you can design. It is sleek, black, and has a large, shiny screen. However the down side is that the PSP chips, scratches, and the screen is easily cracked or scratched. Without a screen protector, oh-no…

The screen also collects quite a number of finger prints.

Besides that, the memory card is only held in by a small piece of plastic. The awesome things about owning or having a PSP is that you can play your own music, watch your own videos, movies, and even able to get on the internet with it. On a PSP you are able to have your photos, the PSP shows battery life, (unlike with a DS, DS only goes Green-Orange-Red, for power) date settings, time/ clock, and personal settings.

Last, but not least, the games of the PSP verses the games of DS. I think that PSP games are meant for teenagers and older. Usually the games are more serious unlike the DS games which are designed mainly for fun. DS games are more family oriented, seen by there being just about only E – E10+ games, excluding the rarely found T games. I have a DS, which I play rather often. However the PSP would be a device that would also be fun to have becasue all of its other advanced applications. ENJOY PLAYING, VIDEO GAME LOVERS!

XBOX 360 vs. PS3

Posted on May 3, 2009 by jrdoda.
Categories: XBOX vs. PS3.

First off, which is better? What do you think? What do the officials think? What is better in the Xbox? PS3?

Sony PS3 vs. Microsoft Xbox 360. The PS3 has a CPU known as the Cell Broadband Engine. (CPU- Central Processing Unit, the “brain” of a computer, the overall central) It has eight cores that each run at about 3.2GHz. Six of these cores are used for the games which you play, one is used for the OS and Security, and the remainder is apparently, not used. On the other hand the Xbox 360 uses a Triple Core CPU, the type that is like in your computer. These cores also run at around 3.2 GHz. Oh, and by the way, incase you don’t know how fast 3.2GHz is, one GHz means 1,000,000,000 periods per second, which is quite rapid for numbers, but only necessary to run games. So the PS3 has seven (used), and the Xbox 360 has three, so judging by this information, the PS3 runs faster. According to these results the PS3 runs more than twice as fast as the Xbox 360.

A PS3 uses a GPU, (A Graphic Process Unit which can be compared to the CPU drives located in your computer, only thing is that GPU is graphic processor based.) known as a Reality Synthesizer, which I believe does exactly as it sounds. This Synthesizer processes at a massive number of 550GHz! The Reality Synthesizer has a 256Mb RAM that will run at 1.3GHz. (RAM- Random Access Memory. RAM is where your temporary files are stored. With more RAM, usually the faster your computer will operate.) The RAM is made and meant for the GPU. Comparing the PS3 to the Xbox, the Xbox runs on a GPU called a Xenos. (pronounced with a “zze”) The Xbox’s Xenos runs at approximately 500GHz. Despite it having 512Mb RAM, this is shared with the CPU, leading to one being unable to use over 400Mb. Throughout the entire system, the RAM runs at 800MHz. Overall they both have fairly similar GPUs.

I don’t know you but I think that the PS3 looks cooler than the Xbox 360. Remember, MY OPINION.

THE PS3:

PS3 3

And now…

THE XBOX 360:

ALL IMAGES FOUND ON GOOGLE IMAGES

Probably the only bad thing about the PS3 is that your fingerprints usually show up on its black shiny coat. The Xbox’s plugs are what may be obnoxious. Not that it is bad, but still.

The PS3 uses a format for its disks called Blue-Ray ROM, which is a higher tech than the average DVD ROM. It uses blue lasers instead of red, the ones used in DVD players. These can hold up to 50GB on one disk! It reads quite a lot faster than the Xbox 360’s DVD ROM which can hold 15GB.

Below is a list of a few features that the PS3 contains:

PS3: Ÿ Up to seven wireless controllers

Ÿ 75ft Wireless range

Ÿ Six-Axis Technology

Ÿ 6 USB ports

Ÿ All camera Memory Card Imports

Ÿ Free Internet

Ÿ Wi-Fi Ready

Ÿ 1080P HD Output

Ÿ Light Controller

Ÿ Silent Fan

(Xbox 360 doesn’t have all of these and generally has money involved to update to any of them)

Due to the fact that the Xbox 360 has been out 16 more months than the PS3, it has many more games available. The PS3 has more than 224 games coming soon, or are already out and available to purchase. The Xbox has 280, already in stores or on the way. I’m not 100% positive, but I believe that Xbox in general has every game based on war. I think that the game’s ratings are “T” and above. The PS3 usually has more of a variety of styles of games. If you’re looking for a challenge and aren’t scared of gore, go for Xbox (360), if not, try something such as the PS3. Game Cube and Wii, have the most “E” games. ENJOY PLAYING, VIDEO GAME LOVERS!

The Electronics In Our Homes

Posted on April 26, 2009 by jrdoda.
Categories: Electronics In Our Homes.

Just about everyone has an Xbox, Play Station, GameCube, Nintendo, Wii or something of the sort right? At least those who play video games would. What about the systems controllers? Ever wondered why they design them like that? I personally don’t really like the fact that Xbox has those monster controllers. My hands can hardly fit over them, yet alone play the typical “M” games. PS controllers are fairly complicated, “X, triangle, square, circle, L1, L2, R1, R2, up, down, left, right, thumb stick one and thumb stick  two.” Who knows, eventually the Play Station controllers could look like this!

 PS4 Controller

The basic controller is bad for your thumbs and fingers, which can lead to arthritis. But why do we keep on playing video games? Yea, “There fun….” Does anyone ever say, “They’re un-cool, they give you bad grades in school”? We play video games to relieve stress, to get rid of anger. But don’t video games motivate violence and anger? What if adults started making educational M games? That would be like torture! M- Complicated spelling. Something as insane as that could happen if games where more educational than violent. However, there is a limit to how gory or violent games should be. The more they are, the more vulgar people become, and more likely they become more violent. What happens in a game can come true in reality, except there is no restart or continue button when you die.

Besides your hands, what about your other muscles in your body? Doesn’t your rear end hurt after hours and hours of playing games like Halo? What about your eyes? The number one cause for children and people getting glasses now-a-days, in my opinion is from video games. You just stare and watch and gaze at the same small, or big screen for hours and hours at a time. Plus usually you don’t worry about turning on back lights which makes it even worse to be concentrating on a lighted screen.

Usually parents are also an issue when it comes to playing video games. It may sound like I’m brain washed, but I’m not, I reassure you that. Parents say that video games affect mental, emotional, and physical behavior, and personally I agree. No offense meant to any of those video game lovers out there, but I think that a few T games can be under- rated. But then on the other hand, there are those games, such as Battle Front and such which could almost be rated as an “E 10+” game. Later on I’ll go into specific categories, but these are just a few things that came to mind. I would love to rate any games! Just add a comment. No offense will be taken for disagreement, and no offense meant.

How Does Freedom of Speech relate to Me as a Blogger?

Posted on April 18, 2009 by jrdoda.
Categories: Freedom Of Speech.

Having the freedom of speech while being a blogger allows me to say and write what I feel and think. A dictionary definition would say that freedom of speech is the right of people to express their opinions publicly without governmental interference, subject to the laws against libel, incitement to violence or rebellion. Just like in a definition, havening this ability to say as I please, it is something that must take considering before actions happen. If I were to say something offensive, it could hurt someone or a type of group/ society. To prevent such things, before I post, I should first ask some of the following questions to myself: “Who could be offended by this? What will this tell others about the type of person I am? What could I loose or gain from this? Do I abuse my standards of how I think people should act having freedom of speech?”

People, on-line or elsewhere around the world, say things which can hurt others or be very offensive. Even things which one wouldn’t think could offend someone may. In the world some people are more easily offended than others are and for this cause you have to make sure you take extreme precautions. Sometimes you can get in big trouble for upsetting someone or being harsh in critiquing. As long as I, as a blogger choose to not post false information, or things which may offend someone, there should hopefully be no harm done.

Some people enjoy having people critique them because they take the critiques as advice on what to improve on. As for me, I enjoy having people critique me, just for this reason. I try to perfect myself, and like to take advice anytime. The web is somewhere where everyone can view what is said and done, so it’s necessary for me as a blogger to double or even triple check the things which I wish to post, before I actually post them.

Don’t forget!- Good and Other Advice Wanted!
